In 1911 The then, King of England, Visited Ireland, not as a friendly neighbour, but as an oppressive occupier.
The opposition to his visit was lead by the likes of James Connolly, Who informed him, that, “Britain have no right in Ireland”.
To the present day the descendants of the same monarchy have came time and again to reaffirm their claim on part of our country, and time and again Irish Republicans have informed them that “Britain never had any right in Ireland”.
And as this weekend approaches loyal British subjects and in the Isle of Ireland prepare for their celebration of their monarchy, we Irish Republicans today still stand in opposition to their Illegitimate claim over a part of our country, we will not be bought into a watered down Britishness or any other form or Britishness, we hold true to the Proclamation and the guarantees laid out within it, we still follow the words of James Connolly, that, “Britain Never can have any right in Ireland”.
This Sunday 3rd of June 2012 at 3.30pm Irish Republicans will gather on the Whiterock Road in West Belfast and march to the Home of the Connolly family, when they lived in Belfast, where in Clondara Street a new mural and the latest in a series of educational murals will be unveiled dedicated to James and Nora Connolly.
The event and the mural have been organized by The James Connolly Republican Society Belfast (1916 Societies) and we are extending a warm welcome to everyone to help us make James Connolly day, not Just a success on the day, but to enshrine the day into the annual Republican calendar.
This is a non party event and all are welcome.
ONE IRELAND-ONE VOTE- this is how Ireland becomes a Nation once again.
